Candi Crawford

MS, MA, P-LPC, NCC

Candi is passionate about mental and emotional health and wellness. With more than 15 years of counseling experience with church and church planting organizations, she is pleased to add a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Colorado Christian University to her Master of Science in Psychology from University of Phoenix. Candi is a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor. Currently, she is working towards her certification in EMDR. Additionally, she is a nationally certified counselor through NBCC. Candi has completed the educational requirements for state licensure and is working to meet the counseling experience requirements under Dr. Fred Hall, LPC-S.

She operates from a person-centered, trauma-informed foundation. She is always person-centered in demonstrating empathy, genuineness, and unconditional positive regard, and trauma-informed in her consideration and sensitivity to the trauma clients have experienced. She believes that no one approach works for everyone. As a result, Candi integrates various theories based on the presenting issues of each client. She works with clients to help them uncover their “why.” She strives to assist clients in discovering their strengths and passions, and with the client, she evaluates how those strengths can be used to nurture a healthier “you.” Candi’s training, education, and experience have prepared her to work with a wide variety of clinical issues, including anxiety, premarital and marital counseling, spiritual concerns, relationship issues, women’s issues, trauma, and self-esteem issues, among others.

She is fiercely dedicated to multicultural competence. Her work with multiethnic ministry, multiethnic church planting organizations, and racial reconciliation has prepared her for cross-cultural work. Equally, she is passionate about ensuring that people of color come to believe therapy is a necessary and healthy tool for life. Her research with colleagues, “Racial Differences in the Expression of Mental Illness: Implications for Educators and Counselors,” and other work, has prepared her to journey with people of color who may have unique cultural concerns.

“He who has a why to live for can bear almost any how”- Nietzsche.

Candi’s training, education, and experience have prepared her to work with a wide variety of clinical issues, including:

  • Affairs

  • Communication

  • Grief and Loss

  • Marital & Premarital Counseling

  • Marital Arguments

  • Personal Growth

  • Trauma & Complex Trauma

Candi is an unsuccessful dieter and an avid “exerciser.” She and her wonderful husband have been married for quite some time and have two amazing sons. When she isn’t engulfed in “guy things” for family time, you will find her passionately working with church planters, humbly serving in her local church, and working on research and certifications. And should she stumble upon free time, she loves to travel, read, “try to” paint, and sit quietly and reflectively beside any body of water.
